O'HERN'S HOMESTEAD INTERPRETATION
TerraCulture were engaged by McMullin Property to undertake a heritage interpretation plan for an historic homestead site known as 135 O’ Hern’s Road Farming Complex (H7922-0454). within the Conservation area at the ConnectNorth Business Park in Epping.
TerraCulture led the research, design and content preparation based on the archaeological excavations carried out in 2017. The interpretive landscape design brief was to include three interpretive plaques designed to act as a point of reference for the tangible historic elements within the Conservation Area, presenting a narrative of early farming life. These historic elements include the reuse of material from the former site ruins, which included the bluestone paving, bluestone fire plinths, red bricks from the chimney bricks and drystone walls. |
